31 Days of Prayer – Day 15

Daily Prayer of Expectancy

Father in heaven, great and powerful and full of love. I lift my heart in praise for the privilege of coming to You in prayer. Give me special grace as I join Your exalted Son in His ministry of prayer.

Search my heart, Lord, and show me if any sin is hindering Your work in my life. May I respond without delay whenever You make me conscious of sin. How grateful I am for Your total forgiveness the moment I confess my sin turning back to You as my Lord!

And Father, teach me to pray. How much I yearn to know Your will and Your way. I thank You that Your Son lives within me. What a joy to know that He is my teacher, that through Him I can learn to pray. I can learn to release Your boundless power for both my needs and the needs of many others, near and far. Teach me to pray.

Day by day may Your Spirit work in me, motivating me to abide in Christ and pray in faith, moving Your mighty hand to fulfill Your purposes. Keep reminding me that You are able to do infinitely more than I would ever dare to ask or imagine,  by Your mighty power at work within me.

To You be the glory both now and forever.

Amen

Pray for the Church of the Future, for the Generation Now Growing Up

Father, You are God throughout all generations, and You are so deeply concerned about the temptations and moral pressures that young people face in today’s world. I lift to You all the young in my church, in my family, in my neighborhood, and all over the world.

Please draw them closer to Christ, and to the true freedom through knowing and obeying Your holy Word. May the see You as good and desirable and loving, may they also learn to love You with all their hearts and to fully trust in Your good plan for their futures. Give them godly role models to look p to and to have strong biblical convictions.

Give fathers and mothers great wisdom in bringing their children up with loving discipline, Bible centered instruction and much prayer. And give children the grace to love, respect and to obey their parents. May the parents be good examples in their walk with You and their love for each other. Work strongly in them to help them overcome problems in their marriages and to keep parents together. Please give them special grace and help especially help those families who have only one parent.

Guide parents in their decisions about their children’s education. Even when situations and educational opportunities are far from ideal and enable parents to lay down strong spiritual foundations in each child’s life.

Protect students from being misled by peer pressure and by society’s ways of thinking and living.

Encourage and strengthen Christian teachers in their important work. And I pray for all who minister to children, students, and families. May your Holy Spirit deeply touch many lives through them. I especially lift up ___________, ____________, and _____________, asking for wisdom, strength, and encouragement for them.

Amen
