God is Constant

O woman, great is your faith. Matthew 15:28

Last week we heard Jesus say to Peter, “you of little faith” and this week we hear Jesus tell the woman just the opposite. In our lives, we find ourselves in both of these situations. We have times of little faith and times of great faith. The thing is that our level of faith is based on our feelings, not on God’s love for us.

Peter’s faith faltered when he took his eyes off of Jesus and felt fear. The woman’s faith was strong when she was protecting her child and she felt desperate. God’s love never falters and is never desperate – God is constant. We should learn from this that no matter what we think of our situation; just know that God will be with us, for us, and behind us.
