Jesus: The Cornerstone
“The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. By the Lord this has been done, it is wonderful in our eyes.
Psalm 118: 22-23
Cornerstones have to be carefully selected to join two walls at the base of a building. A great deal depends on choosing the right stone for the project.
Jesus was the cornerstone whom the builders, the religious leaders, rejected. Perhaps that is understandable: God intended to build a structure that was a mystery to them.
Sometimes we reject Jesus in small or large ways because we don’t yet understand the work God is doing in us. When we let Jesus become the cornerstone of our lives, we will begin to see what God is building in and through us. And it will be wonderful in our eyes.
