Memories…Good and Bad

“The afflicted and the needy seek water in vain, their tongues are parched with thirst. I, the Lord, will answer them.”   Isaiah 41:17

Beneath many successful and highly praised careers can live fearful people who do not think much of themselves. They are living divided lives and feel they must keep their inner reality hidden from those who know only their outer impression. They are living isolated lives, cut off from others because they believe that their value lies only in the gifts they have to offer and not also in the gifts they can receive.

Jesus wanted his disciples then and now to understand that we are sent into the world just as he was sent into the world – to heal, to cure, and to proclaim the Good News.

Trust in that healing power. Trust that if we are living as the beloved we will heal people whether or not we are aware of it. But we have to be faithful to that call.

Prayer:

Dear Jesus, quench my thirst with the water of life.

Amen
