Let God Be Your Source of Approval

There seems to be an epidemic of insecurity that is taking away the joy of life from a lot of people today in our society and this is causing huge problems in their relationships. Insecurity is harmful and can do a lot of damage to a person and those around them.

For those who are insecure, they will often seek out the approval of others to try and overcome the feelings of rejection and low self-esteem that they may have. Often times this need of approval from others becomes an addiction in itself and we know what addictions can do to a person.

When a person struggles with insecurity there is only one thing that is going to set them free, and it’s not the approval of others, but it’s God’s truth. In reality, we don’t really need to struggle to get from man what God willingly and freely gives us through His love, acceptance, approval, security, worth and value.

Remember, He is our Refuge, our High Tower, our Strength, our Stronghold especially in times of need and trouble He is our Hiding Place. (read Psalm 9:9; 31:4; 32:7; 37:39; 46:11) We don’t need to be told of our worth by others because our true worth, value, acceptance and approval all come from God. As long as we have that, we have the most valuable things in the entire world and no person on earth can replace what God offers us.

Look to Him and you will be lifted to new levels of freedom, you will become confident, mature, the person that God created you to be.

Lord, I look to You for security. I focus on the truth – You are my refuge and strength. You give me love and acceptance. In You alone I am completely confident.
