If we can try and understand just how powerful the words we speak are, it could change the course of our lives! Our mouths are a very powerful tool, either for God or for the “enemy”. In other words, when we speak it can be positive, encouraging and uplifting or it can be negative, discouraging and gloomy. It’s all a matter of choosing the right things to say.
In reality, it’s doubtful that most people, especially Christians don’t want to be the mouthpiece for the devil. But, the fact still remains that the mouth and what we say can be used for blessing others or for destruction. This is not only in our own lives but in others.
The Holy Spirit can teach us how to use the creative power of the Word of God to be a blessing in our lives and in others. The Holy Spirit can help us learn how to apply the truth of God’s Word to our circumstances in life and then over time we will be able to see the results of positive speaking.
Our mouths are like pens and our hearts are like tablets. When we say something over and over again it will get on the inside of us and it becomes who we are.
So, it’s probably a lot better idea to try and be a mouthpiece for God than the enemy. We need to be able to speak His truth and the results will be a much more enjoyable life for ourselves and those that we come in contact with.
Peter 3:10 says “Let him who wants to enjoy life and see good days keep his tongue free from evil and his lips from guile.” So, do you want to enjoy your life? Then you need to make sure to use your mouth to speak the things of God and place His Words into your life.
Lord, I know that my mouth is a powerful tool that can be used for You or for the enemy. I submit my mouth to You. Show me how to speak Your truth into my life and into the lives of others.
