Do you know what dream it is that God has put in your heart? This isn’t a question asking if you have a dream, it is there because God gives everyone dreams.
People do all kinds of different things to their dreams. Sometimes they try to bury them deep into their hearts to protect themselves from criticism. Others will set them out of sight so they simply don’t have to think or worry about them. And then there are some who finally just completely give up on their dreams because the pain is too much to hold onto them.
Your dreams may need a jump start and there are a couple of things to remember in this case. First you need to make sure you have a vision that’s clear and second you need to keep that vision in front of you all of the time.
Of course, even if you have a vision this does not mean that it’s going to instantly appear. Remember that God is just as interested in the process of your vision as He is in the final result of it.
Paul said in Philippians 4:11-13 that he had learned how to be content and satisfied to the point where he was not disturbed by whatever state he was in. In other words, he never let himself get upset with where he was at the moment, he was always looking forward to where he could be instead.
This means you, me, everyone, like Paul, need to be able to find a good balance between our contentment and our ambition. The key here is to learn how to enjoy wherever you are at while you are on your way to your dream or goal.
Remember when you have a vision or a dream it always needs to be kept in front of you and not behind. Write it down if that helps to keep you focused on it and always remember that God will help you live that dream that He Himself has given you, step by step and one day at a time He’ll be there helping you.
Jesus, even though I don’t always feel like it and life tries to get me to quit, I believe You have a great plan for my life. I choose to trust You to help me live the dream You’ve given me more than I trust my circumstances.
