Why is it that so many Christians seem to live in defeat? It’s because they don’t truly understand the grace of God which not only brings them to salvation but which also enables them to live life. Some don’t know how to appreciate grace on a daily basis.
Grace frees us from the temptations of this world and brings us into a relationship with God. Grace brings life, but it also restores the means by which we are to live and please our Father in heaven. Grace is one key to our relationship with God.
Grace – imagine – what peace, what life, what power, what confidence will be ours when we understand the truth about His grace. If we understand grace, we will never turn away from the blessings of God. If we understand grace, we will never feel that we can’t ask God for forgiveness or help because we have failed Him over and over again and deserve to be forgiven or helped. When we understand grace, we know that grace covers all of our inadequacies, all of our failures, all of our frailties and all of our sins.
If we think that we can continue to live in sin because we are under grace, we’re wrong and we insult the Spirit of grace. Hebrews 10:29 reads: “How much worse punishment do you think will be deserved by those who have spurned the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant by which they were sanctified and outraged the Spirit of Grace.”
Life lived according to the grace of God is not lawless, rather, life under God’s grace is evidenced by ever increasing holiness.
God’s gift to man is eternal life through Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23). The grace of God is everything that we will ever need made available to us in and through Jesus our Lord. Grace is God’s power at work.
