If we look carefully at the life of Jesus we will see that He spent a good portion of it going around and “doing good”. He brought both hope and happiness where there once was only darkness and despair. Even in the short hours prior to His own death, Jesus took time out to pray a passionate prayer for others. The prayer is probably the Bible’s most beautiful prayer. He seeks strength and blessings for all those who follow Him. His prayer reveals flashes of His humanity and it forever exposes His eternal divinity.
It might be good for us to study this prayer found in John 17. It is a guiding force, and imagine just how much richer and fuller our lives would be if we followed it. May we give ourselves to Him and humanity. Then our lives would be as God intended them to be to be helpers of God and all of humanity.
