Whenever we receive the Holy Eucharist, we need to do so humbly and broken before our God. We need to be grateful and thankful for the salvation that we receive through the Cross. This Cross that fulfilled Passover and began the Holy Eucharist has power in our daily lives.
When we live under the Cross of Christ, then we can say to whatever guilt or shame we might have haunting us: Jesus nailed it all to the Cross. When Satan accuses us and reminds us of our past sins, and that’s who does, we can say: Jesus nailed it all to the Cross. When we are tempted to think of ourselves as failures, we can remind ourselves that: Jesus nailed it all to the Cross.
Only in the Cross of Christ are we able to receive power when we are totally powerless. We will find the strength that we need when we are weak. We will experience hope when our situation seems to be totally hopeless. Only in the Cross is there peace for our troubled and broken hearts.
God, thank You that I can partake in the Holy Eucharist knowing that my sins are nailed to the Cross.
“Having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; He took it away, nailing it to the Cross.”
