A parody of Quentin Tarantino movies titled “Djesus Uncrossed,” which showed Christ as a gun-toting killer out for revenge against the Romans, has caused Sears to ensure its ads won’t run in online versions of NBC‘s Saturday Night Live.*
The move came after the American Family Association, a longtime conservative critic of what it regards as immorality on TV, petitioned companies to pull their ads, according to Fox News.
The AFA initially claimed that JCPenney also pulled ads from the show, but that’s not true, according to the New York Times. JCP has never advertised with SNL, and Sears will continue to advertise on the broadcast TV show.
I personally think Sears should have gone one step further and pulled even their ads from SNLs TV show! But at least they pulled them from the Web showing of it. I agree with Hannity in the video that there is a double standard going on in this country when he says that they would never have dreamed of making such distasteful fun of Mohamed in this manner, for example! Had this been something offensive against the Muslim faith it would have been all over the news when it happened. But since it was a direct attack on Christianity and Christians and their faith, it’s ignored except by Fox News who never has problems defending Christians and Christianity, I only heard about it myself just last night from a dear friend of mine! I stopped watching SNL many, many years ago and after something like this, I wouldn’t even think of ever watching it again, even if my life depended on it.
And shame on that woman on the Hannity show, sitting there all smug and with a smirk on her face the entire time and laughing it off telling Hannity and his other guest to lighten up. Who does she think she is?! And how about our cowardly president that can’t even make a comment about it? I’ll guarantee you that he would have publically denounced SNL and NBC both had it been something against the Muslim faith!
