“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?” O how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”
No matter what, it seems to be difficult for us to try not to judge others. I will be the first person to admit that I’m guilty of it on occasion, although I do try my best to bite my tongue and pray away the judgmental thoughts that might arise. One key thing that I do when I begin to feel like I might start to experience judgmental thoughts is to immediately begin praying the “Hail Mary”, I find that this is so very helpful during those moments. But still, I like so many Christians have a long way to go before we reach the plateau at which Christ would like to see us at.
